Calculator for individual taxation
(Disclosure: Some of the links below may be affiliate links)
This calculator helps you estimate whether you will pay more or less taxes with the new individual taxation system.
Please remember that this calculator only presents a view of the federal taxes. Only basic federal deductions are considered. Cantonal taxes will differ.
How does this work?
This calculator will compute federal taxes with the previous joint system and with the new individual system and will compare the results of both.
In the past, the two separate incomes were added together, and deductions were made on the total taxable income. With the new system, each partner is being taxed separately on its income. And deductions are applied 50% to each partner.
Additionally, the new federal child deduction is raised to 12,000 CHF per child (up from 6,800 CHF).
This calculator takes the net income into account and computes the taxable income considering the following deductions:
- Work deductions
- Double-income deductions (in the joint system only)
- The married couple deduction (in the joint system only)
- Health insurance deductions
- Children deductions
From these taxable incomes, the system will compute federal taxes based on the 2025 tax brackets. And then, the system will compare both values.
Again, this only takes federal taxes into account, not cantonal and municipal taxes.
